LOWER LIMB PROSTHESIS
A lower limb prosthes is refers to a prosthesis that replaces any part of the lower limb to restore the functional and/or cosmetic purpose of the lower limb. This may include artificial components that replace the hip, thigh, knee, ankle and foot.
There is few different type of lower limbs prosthesis
Hip Disarticulation
Hip Disarticulation Prostheses is suitable for those with a hip disarticulation or transpelvic (hemipelvectomy) amputation.
Above Knee / Transfemoral Prosthesis
An above knee (AK) or transfemoral (TF) prosthesis is custom made for a person who has had a AK or TF amputation. The prosthesis consists of a custom made socket, liner, knee, pylon, and foot. Sometimes the prosthesis may consist of a sleeve or other harness, depending on the suspension system used for that patient.
Optional : -
- Socket - Double Socket , Single Socket
- Liner - Silicone Locking Liner , Pelite Liner
- Knee Joint - Total Knee , Lock Knee , Safety Knee
- Pylon - Carbon , Aluminium Alloy
- Foot - SACH Foot , Single Axis Foot , Quantum Foot , Multiflex Foot
Below Knee / Transtibial Prosthesis
A below knee (BK) or transtibial (TT) prosthesis is custom made for a person who has had a BK or TT amputation. The prosthesis consists of a custom made socket, liner, pylon, and foot. Sometimes the prosthesis may consist of a sleeve or other harness, depending on the suspension system used for that patient.
Optional : -
- Socket - Double Socket , Single Socket
- Liner - Silicone Locking Liner , Pelite Liner
- Knee Joint - Total Knee , Lock Knee , Safety Knee
- Pylon - Carbon , Aluminium Alloy
- Foot - SACH Foot , Single Axis Foot , Quantum Foot , Multiflex Foot
Knee Disarticulation Prosthesis
The knee disarticulation prosthetic system was designed taking into account that the amputee is able to bear weight on the end of their residual limb, and long length of the limb increases their control of the prosthesis
Optional : -
- Socket - Double Socket , Single Socket
- Liner - Silicone Locking Liner , Pelite Liner
- Knee Joint - Total Knee , Lock Knee , Safety Knee
- Pylon - Carbon , Aluminium Alloy
- Foot - SACH Foot , Single Axis Foot , Quantum Foot , Multiflex Foot
Ankle Disarticulation Prosthesis
The Symes (Ankle Disarticulation) Prosthesis is designed to equalize patient’s leg lengths and provide functional ambulation for the amputee.
Partial Foot
A partial foot prosthesis can help distribute the weight-bearing forces comfortably on the remaining foot and allow for the patient to walk for a longer period of time without as much pain or discomfort.
Silicone Foot / Toes Prosthesis
A silicone forefoot prosthesis replaces the amputated part of a foot. It can be worn when the ankle joint is fully retained following an amputation. Silicone partial foot prostheses make a largely natural gait pattern possible.
